Casa Safari
This home is where the vision for Purycci Development was born. Designed and built by Pourya Safari as both a personal sanctuary and a real-life showcase of his values, it reflects everything the company stands for: purposeful design, smart solutions, and uncompromising quality. What began as a personal project on a limited budget quickly became a blueprint for the standards Pourya believed were missing in Costa Rica’s construction industry. Every detail - from layout and flow to materials and finishes - was carefully considered, proving that excellence is always possible with the right leadership, intention, and execution.

Background and challenge
With no ocean view, Pourya wanted the home to feel lush and alive—green, inside and out. He envisioned a year-round garden that would visually and emotionally replace the ocean. Large windows reaching up to the ceiling were installed to bring that greenery inside, creating a natural, serene environment.
But this wasn’t just a personal build—it was a pivotal moment. Through the construction process, Pourya became aware of how disorganized and chaotic the local industry could be: stone-cutting indoors, poor timelines, little professionalism. Facing his own challenges—like having to reposition the entire home further from the road after the lot was already leveled—he still found ways to maintain design integrity, natural flow, and efficient use of space. With a limited budget and only three workers at the start, he pushed forward, creating not just a home but a proof of concept. That project became the foundation for what is now Purycci Development.

Design process
The design centers around connection—to nature, to function, and to a simpler, more intuitive way of living. Over 80 fruit trees were planted in the garden—an impressive feat in the dry season—and the architecture was designed to make them part of the everyday experience. A ceiling window allows for views of the full moon during its seasonal cycle. A wide kitchen window and seamless flow between dining and living spaces make the outdoors feel like part of the interior. Even the furniture—beds, couches, and other pieces—was built from concrete to ensure long-term durability and minimal maintenance.
Result and impact
Pourya’s residence is more than a home—it’s the cornerstone of Purycci Development. Built from a place of vision, constraint, and conviction, it proved what could be achieved in Costa Rica with the right leadership, work ethic, and design sensibility. It is still used today as a real-life reference point for future clients and collaborators, standing as a living testament to the company's roots and standards.
